With Steve Leach joining GkJE that makes us a team of 10. Steve’s a writer, thinker and all-round ideas guy who’s been at it for 18 years. He’s joined us to work on strategic marketing campaigns.
He began his career as a conceptual copywriter in the pressure-cooker of big advertising, eventually transitioning to a ‘pen for hire.’ He works on anything that requires a strategic creative platform, a big idea and some copy to go with it.
Steve went his own In 2011 after spending many a late night toiling tirelessly on brands like BMW, MINI, Johnson & Johnson Land Rover and Parmalat. A few years in he became creative director at a few smaller agencies, where he got involved in high level creative strategy for brands like SABmiller, BBC and Sony Playstation.
For a time, Steve was creative head of BMW’s dedicated dealer-network agency. Running at high RPM, cranking out numerous sales-driven print advertisements, radio campaigns, EDMs and online material every month.
However, Steve left the safe bubble of the ad agency world to enter a whole new dimension of creative entrepreneurship. Today, he finds himself working with a diverse range of clients and businesses, becoming involved in an infinitely broad range of creative endeavors.
On a single day he can be occupied brainstorming CSI strategy; generating event ideas; ghostwriting opinion pieces or editing SEO copy. The next, he might be scripting explainer videos; producing corporate profiles; thinking of activation or social media ideas; writing internal magazine copy; producing LinkedIn profiles for CEOs or writing up business award entries for maverick entrepreneurs.
No day is the same. No idea is alike. Every morning Steve wakes up to a new creative challenge waiting to be solved. That’s pretty much how it can be a GkJE and we’re happy to have Steve join us as the tenth member of our team.
