Elke / Graphic Designer

Elke Ploetz has an eye for composition like no other. In 1983, she met Geoff in German class at university and joined GkJE in 2013.

Elke began her design career in an advertising agency in the 1980s before moving to Australian Academic Press. There she worked on book and magazine design – notably with a psychological bent.

Following several years in corporate land with ANZ, Elke went to a small, award-winning studio that specialised in packaging and branding. She became a sole trader at the turn of the century and started working with Geoff in 2012.

Her focus has always been on creating function-based design communication in printed media. It’s held her in good stead over the years as she produced the Film Festival Program for the Audi Festival of German Films for more than 10 years.

She designs Kultur magazine for the Goethe-Institut Australia and has a long history working with a network of specialist designers, programmers, photographers and copywriters from diverse backgrounds.

Elke worked on the successful GkJE branding for Golia Vel in Norway, which they’ve adopted across their communication channels. Her extensive experience allows GkJE to supply quick, quirky and stand-out designs.
